DMV's replacement of knowledge test kiosks continues on schedule
Installation of equipment and training has each DMV office closing for a day Oct 17, 2011
Look up your local DMV office to see its closure date. Oregon DMV wants to remind customers to check www.OregonDMV.com before they visit their local DMV field office to make sure it's open. DMV is installing new knowledge-test kiosks at its offices across the state through early November. Each office must close for one day for installation of equipment and staff training.

Training requirements for new motorcyclists go into effect Jan. 1, 2011

As of Jan. 1, 2011, new motorcyclists aged 30 and under must complete an ODOT-approved motorcycle safety course before they can be issued a motorcycle endorsement by DMV.
This is part of a phased-in law (Senate Bill 546) passed by the 2009 Oregon Legislature. Other motorcycle related laws were passed at the same time and have already gone into effect.
